Practitioner Q&A - Mike Kunz

Mike is incredibly knowledgeable about the legal hiring market, what firms and companies are looking for in candidates, and what law students can be doing now and as they start their careers to get and stay on the right track for achieving their career goals. 

Michael obtained his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor on the American University Law Review and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. Michael earned his undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the University of Maryland.

Michael began his legal career as a Litigation Associate with Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York before joining the Litigation Department at Ballard Spahr LLP in Philadelphia. As an attorney, Michael worked on a diverse array of matters, including commercial contract disputes, antitrust litigations, white collar investigations, product liability suits, consumer financial service matters, and class actions. Prior to his time as an attorney, Michael worked as a Federal Police Officer at the Supreme Court of the United States.

Michael Kunz is a Managing Director at RPN, where he places attorneys of all disciplines into both law firm and in-house roles.
